Fixing a WordPress Comment Submission That Hangs

Open comment.php in the site directory:

site_directory/wp-includes/comment.php

Find this line after the function:

wp_new_comment( $commentdata, $avoid_die = false )

Remove this call or comment it out, and comments will work normally again. A modification by a plugin or another program may have caused the comment validation error.

//do_action( ‘comment_post’, $comment_ID, $commentdata[‘comment_approved’], $commentdata );

This is only a temporary workaround. I recommend reinstalling WordPress to resolve the problem.
